Baking Soda

Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda, is a natural antacid that can reduce the symptoms within a few minutes after you take it. Take a glass of water, add one teaspoonful baking soda and a little lemon juice to it and drink it immediately. You will feel the symptoms go away within a short time. However, this remedy should not be used too often as taking baking soda too often can lead to some other adverse health effects.


Fresh ginger is another useful natural way for getting rid of severe heartburn for good. It works in two separate ways: first, it absorbs the stomach acid responsible for the problem and second it also provides calming effects for the nerves to reduce the burning sensation. There are numerous ways of using ginger. You can add it to various dishes, eat them raw or chop them to make a delightful herbal tea.
